2 Pinoy fishermen killed in Taiwan arrive

THE remains of Gorge Impang and Andree Serencio, the Filipino fishermen who were killed in a bridge collapse in Taiwan have arrived.

The two fishermen died when a 140-meter long single-arch bridge tumbled down on fishing boats and into the waters on Taiwan’s east coast last Tuesday.

The remains were flown onboard China Air flight CI 703 from Taipei and arrived at around 10 a.m. 

Meantime, it was learned that the third Filipino fatality, identified as fisherman Romulo Escalicas, Jr., is set to be repatriated on October 16 yet  due to some documents that are needed to bring him home.

A total of six fishing workers from the Philippines and Indonesia were killed and 12 others injured when Nanfang’ao suspension bridge in Yilan’s Su’ao township collapsed on Tuesday morning.
