THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is monitoring the aftermath of a shooting incident near Los Angeles late Friday (late Saturday afternoon in Manila) that left at least three persons dead and four others wounded.
The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles is checking with authorities if Filipinos were among the victims in the shooting, which took place at a bowling alley in Torrance, about 32 kilometers south of Los Angeles.
Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz said initial reports indicate that the shooting took place following a brawl between two groups inside the Gable House Bowl.
He said authorities are still trying to identify the suspects in the incident.
According to Cruz, there are approximately 4,000 Filipinos in Torrance, a coastal city with a population of 150,000.
