A 42-YEAR-OLD female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) committed suicide by hanging her self while under quarantine yesterday morning in Pasay City.
The lifeless body of Algen Cadungog, OFW from Kuwait and resident of Demapaco Libungan, Cotabato City was discovered by her colleagues at around 6 a.m. hanging with a fabric scarf looped around her neck and the other end tied underneath the stairways inside room 45 of Liza Lodge at Cuneta Avenue, Bgy. 76 which was converted into a quarantine facility for returning OFWs.
Witnesses Edna Maturan, 51, and Noemi Gorospe, 38, told Pasay city police homicide investigators that they were all repatriated from Kuwait and arrived at the NAIA on April 4, 2020 before being transported into their designated quarantine facility in Pasay.
The two claimed that before they discovered the victim’s body, the latter told them that she attempted to commit suicide while in Kuwait but did not tell them the reason.
