A 29-YEAR-OLD overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was stabbed dead by a fellow Filipino in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday said.
The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah said the fatality was from Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao who worked as a family driver in Jeddah.
Philippine Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Badajos said the victim was fatally stabbed by a fellow Filipino who also works as a driver for the same Saudi family.
Badajos said the assailant, a 34-year-old from Capiz, was arrested by police immediately after the incident and remains in detention.
The knife attack happened on Sunday when the two allegedly engaged in a fistfight in front of the house of their employer. The brawl ended in the victim getting fatally stabbed by his fellow driver.
Badajos said the Consulate General and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jeddah will extend full assistance to both Filipinos and their families.
