A STRING of anti-criminality operations in Bulacan conducted by the local police over the past 48-hours resulted in the killing of an armed drug trafficking suspect during a gunbattle in Plaridel town and the arrest of 12 others, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said.
The slain suspect identified as Archie Ramos, a resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo in Pulilan engaged undercover officers of the Plaridel Municipal Police Station in a gunfight in Bgy. Banga 1st at 1:20 a.m. yesterday and was killed when the lawmen retaliated.
According to Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Chito Bersaluna, the suspect and an unidentified cohort have just conspired to sell shabu to a poseur when they sensed they were dealing with an undercover cop and opened fire at the lawman.
Back-up operatives retaliated killing the suspect who was found in possess of a caliber .38 revolver with five live ammunition and a spent cartridge, 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu and the marked P500 bill paid to him by the agent.
The Plaridel police headed by Lieutenant Col. Victorino Valdez said the slain suspect is included in their drug watch list. The other suspect who escaped on board a black motorcycle is still being hunted as of press time.
Bersaluna said that 12 other suspects were arrested in a string of buy-bust operations in Meycauayan City and the towns of Marilao, Bulakan, Pandi, Bocaue, Baliwag, Guiguinto and Balagtas.
Two of the suspects were only 16 and 17-years old, he said.
Recovered from the suspects were 31 plastic sachets with shabu, three plastic packets with dried marijuana leaves and the buy-bust money.
