BULACAN undercover anti-narcotics agents on Monday shot dead an armed drug trafficking suspect during a buy-bust operation which went awry in San Jose del Monte City and arrested two others in separate stings in the province Tuesday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said yesterday.
The slain suspect identified as Michael Kristan Dandan, a resident of Barangay Santa Cruz 1 in San Jose del Monte City, was killed in a shootout with members of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station under Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr. at 12:45 a.m. Monday.
According to Castil, the suspect had just sold shabu to an undercover agent in Sitio Paculis in Bgy. Gaya-Gaya when he sensed the sting and tried to shoot the poseur but missed. Back-up operatives returned fire and gunned down the suspect who yielded 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one plastic packet with dried marijuana leaves, the buy-bust money and a caliber .38 revolver with three spent cartridges and two live ammunition.
Bulacan police director, Col. Chito Bersaluna said two other suspects identified as Romeo Bauza, 50, and Romeo Cruz, 42, were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Obando and Pandi municipalities on Tuesday.
Bauza, a resident of Osmeña Street, Bgy. Pag-asa, Obando and Cruz, a mechanic from Bgy. Dulong Bayan in Sta. Maria town are both included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list, said the official.
