A STRING of anti-narcotics operations in Bulacan conducted by the local police led in the killing of three armed suspects in gunbattles and the arrest of five others on Wednesday and early morning Thursday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said.
The slain suspects were identified as Justin Sy and Jonathan Añonuevo, both of San Jose del Monte City and Ferdinand Inducil alias ‘Long Hair,’ a resident of Barangay Maasim in San Ildefonso town.
Sy and Añonuevo were shot and killed during a firefight with members of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr. at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The official said that Sy had just sold a packet of shabu to a poseur when he sensed the ongoing entrapment operation and ran inside his house at Block 49, Lot 24, Area 1, Nuvista Subdivision in Bgy. Sto. Cristo where he and Añonuevo engaged pursuing officers in a shootout until they were killed.
Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were two improvised 12-gauge shotguns with several ammunition and seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
On the other hand, suspect Inducil was killed in a gunfight with members of the San Ildefonso Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Voltaire Rivera during a sting in Bgy. Maasim early morning Thursday.
The slain suspect yielded nine plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, the marked money he received from the poseur and a cal. .22 revolver with two live ammunition and two spent casings.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Col. Chito Bersaluna said the other suspects were arrested during separate buy-bust operations in San Jose del Monte and Malolos cities and the municipality of Hagonoy and Bocaue.
