1 kilo of shabu worth P6.8M seized in Lanao Sur

AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group around 2 p.m. yesterday arrested a couple in Wao, Lanao del Sur after they conspired to sell a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million to an undercover officer, PNP-DEG director, Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee said.

In a report to PNP chief, General Debold M. Sinas, Lee identified the suspects as Busran Saripada Busran alias ‘Commander Manong,’64; and his wife Monira Alipapa Ampatua,46, both residents of Barangay Panang in Wao municipality.

Lee said the two were arrested during a buy-bust in Purok 2, Barangay West Kilikili. Wao.

The operatiom was conducted by undercover officers from the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 9.

The PNP-DEG operatives were backed up by operatives from the Wao Municipal Police Station and the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office’s 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company in launching the sting in the area which is known for having a considerable presence of armed groups.

Lee said that recovered from the couple were a kilo of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P6.8 million, the boodle boney topped by a marked P1,000 bill and a motorcycle with plate no. 1001-133053 which they used in transporting the drugs.

The two are now being held at the Wao police lock-up facility facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the official.
