10 arrested for illegal gambling in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY – Police arrested 10 suspected illegal gamblers during separate operations in Barangas Amsic and Ninoy Aquino here over the weekend.

Col. Rommel Sta Ana Batangan, city police director here, said four of the suspects were caught in an illegal cockpit in Bgy. Amsic wherein two fighting cocks with gaffs and bet money were confiscated by the police. Nabbed were Adan Rodriguez, 55; Reynaldo Homeres, 61; Junel Silires, 34; and Raymart Solitarios, 23.

In Bgy. Ninoy Aquino, six persons identified as Marjorie Abuid, 37; Remedios Dayrit, 49; Eliza Alperez, 49; Arminda Mallari, 50; Lourdes Palo, 76; and Desiree Fainsan, 48 were arrested for engaging in the “Quhao” card game. Confiscated were a set of playing cards and cash money amounting to P677 in different denominations.

The suspects and the seized evidence were brought to the police station for documentation and proper disposition. They are facing charges for violation of PD 1602 before the Angeles City Prosecutor’s Office.

The Angeles City Police Office will exert all efforts to fight all forms of criminality in response to the marching orders of General Debold Sinas, Chief PNP, and guided by Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, RD PRO3, will continuously oversee the welfare of the people and ensure that peace and order in the community is maintained at all times,” Batangan said.
