11 killed in Laguna, Cavite anti-crime operations

CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicente Lim, Calamba City, Laguna -- At least 11 suspects were killed by police officers in separate anti-drug and crime operations in Laguna and Cavite this weekend.

Calabarzon Regional office IVA Director Chief Supt Edward Carranza said in Cavite, General Trias police shot dead a drug suspect identified only as alias “Bimar,” of Bgy. San Francisco,  in a gunbattle around 1 p.m. on Saturday.  He was declared dead upon arrival at the General Trias Medical Hospital.

In Naic town, cops conducted a buy-bust in Bgy. Muzon around 9:30 p.m., and killed drug peddler Jay Loyola and two still unidentified suspects. Seized from the three suspects were unlicesed guns and sachets of shabu.

In Kawit, a buy-bust in Bgy. Tabon 1 and Gahak around 2:30 a.m. yesterday resulted in the death of suspects Rodelito Pelayo and Art Jule Sarinas while a certain Joey Komang managed to escape.

In Silang town around 3:25 a.m. yesterday, policemen chanced upon two unidentified members of a “basag kotse.” The suspects tried to escape on a motorcycle but the back rider was hit and killed on the spot in a shootout while the other suspect escaped.

Meanwhile in Laguna, Biñan police chased two motorcycle thieves around 2:43 a.m. in Bgy. San Antonio. The suspects were cornered in Bgy. San Antonio where the suspects enganged the cops in a shootout. One of them was shot dead while the other one escaped.

Policemen recovered the motorcycle and a cal. .38 revolver with two sachets of shabu.

In San Pablo City, three persons were killed and four others were arrested during a raid in Bgy. San Ignacio around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The slain suspects were identified as Christopher Alain Alvero, and two unidentified who were all armed with .45 pistols.

Those arrested were Joy Alvero, Enrico Eric Suasi, Anthony Castillo and Abby Gaa Gomez.

The suspects reportedly refused to yield and instead fired shots at the arresting police officers.
