TWELVE drug traffickers in Zamboanga City were arrested by the local police in separate buy-busts this week which led to the recovery of some P2.350 million worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 9 director Brigadier General Froilan F. Quidilla said yesterday.
Quidilla said members of the Zamboanga City Police Office headed by Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir conducted simultaneous anti-narcotics operations in different barangays in the city.
Four of the suspects yielded an estimated P350,000 worth of shabu last Thursday.
The official identified the arrested suspects as construction worker Aslam Musli, 29; “habal-habal” driver Nicanor Mukammal,26; Alkalid Ladjarani,39; and Delfin Dagatan, 25.
Quidilla said Musli, a resident of Campo Islam and Mukammal in Barangay Rio Hondo, was arrested while selling shabu to an undercover officer in Tumaga, Porcentro Road 3:50 p.m. Recovered from him were four plastic sachets of shabu worth P34,000, three marked P100 bills, a.45 pistol.
On the other hand, Ladjarani was arrested about 6:50 p.m. in an entrapment in Lobregat Village, Bgy. Putik. He yielded some P6,000 worth of shabu and two marked P100 bills.
Dagatan, of Upper Tulungatung, was arrested in Bgy. Ayala around 11:30 p.m. after he sold some P8,000 worth of shabu to an undercover officer.
Quidilla said all four suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Musli will also be charged with violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.
The other suspects arrested were online shop dealers Rohel Samla, 31; a student named Merhana Almirante, 21; Mavvin Hatang, 32; Arshid Sali, 22; Sahipa Jimlah, a 60-year-old van operator; Marlon Castro, 29; Abdusaboor Sangongot, 40; and Allim Nur Omar, 24.
Quidilla said Samla Guiwan and Almirante were arrested by anti-narcotics officers led by Major Mark Anthony Karanain during a sting in Massachussets Drive, Bgy. San Jose. Recovered from them were an estimated P1.7 million worth of shabu and the boodle money topped by two marked P1,000 bills.
Sangogot , a security guard and Omar were arrested while conspiring to sell some P3,000 worth of shabu to a poseur in Sta. Barbara area. Policemen led by Maj. Arian Dalumpines recovered from them three plastic sachets containing shabu and the buy-bust money topped by two marked P100 bills.
Castro, of Canelar Moret, was arrested by officers led by Maj. Ramon Bautista in a a sting inside the Atilano Compound. The suspect yielded three sachets of shabu worth P4,000 and three marked P100 bills paid to him by a poseur.
Jimlah, of Bgy. Lumbangan, was arrested in a drug-bust and seized from him some P350,000 worth of shabu and the boodle money.
Hatang, a resident of Guyabano Drive in Lower Calarian and Sali of Macrohon Drive, was arrested by a team of officers led by Maj. Hazel Fernandez in Zone 3 Interior, Bgy. Tumaga.
Jimlah and Hatang yielded P2,000 worth of shabu and a marked P500 bill.
