FOURTEEN suspected drug traffickers in Central Visayas were hauled to jail by the local police in separate buy-busts yesterday which also led to the confiscation of at least P200,000 worth of shabu, PRO7 Officer-In-Charge, Colonel Ildebrandi Usana said.
Ten of the suspects were arrested in an entrapment in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Linao, Talisay City, Cebu around 4:20 a.m., the official said.
Usana identified the suspects as Jomar Taburada, 29; Artele Echavez, 26; Rolando Rocaberte, 31; Juncel Villejo, 30; Eric Vistal, 34; Jake Maneja, 27; Maclin Maneja, 44; Christian Regis, 41; Welbert Canedo, 32; and Rosemarie Omagbon, 24.
Members of the Talisay City police Drug Enforcement Unit seized from the suspects some 17 plastic sachets containing at least 29 grams of shabu worth P136,000 and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill.
The two other suspects identified as Rodel Pajares, 26; and Vicente Garbo, 48; were arrested in a drug bust on Duterte Street, Barangay Suba, Danao City around 7 p.m.
Cebu Police Provincial Office director Col. Roderick Mariano said the suspects yielded some five grams of shabu valued at P34,000 and the marked bills paid to them by the poseur.
All suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the official said.
