16-year-old caught driving stolen trike

CABANATUAN CITY – A 16-year-old Grade 7 student was apprehended for possession of a stolen tricycle here on Monday.

City police head Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo said the young suspect, a resident of St. Nicolas Subd., Bgy. Bantug Norte, and whose name was withheld by the police for still being a minor, was arrested during follow-up operations conducted by his men along Mabini Street in Bgy. Sangitan West.

Dasugo said his arrest was an offshoot of a complaint by Nancy Pineda, 40, of Bgy. Sangitan West, who earlier sought police assistance after her black Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle was stolen while parked unattended in front of the house at 7 a.m.

The suspect, who was caught driving the stolen tricycle was already subjected to inquest proceedings before the city prosecutor’s office here.
