2 armed drug dealers gunned down in Bukidnon

TWO armed drug trafficking suspects were killed in a gunbattle with undercover officers in Valencia City in Bukidnon around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Police Regional Office 10 report said.

Valencia City Police Station chief, Lieutenant Colonel Surki Sereñas, identified the slain suspects as Justiniano Paloma,32, and Rey Canonigo,20.

The official said the two died after exchanging gunfire with local police anti-narcotics officers in Purok 20-A in Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City.

Members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Captain Allan Payla conducted the entrapment operation which turned awry when the two sensed the sting and fired at the poseur but missed when the latter managed to seek cover.

Back-up operatives returned fire hitting the two who died while being taken to a local hospital.  Recovered during the operation were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some P13,000 worth of suspected shabu,  two chamber-loaded caliber .45 pistols with two magazines containing two live ammunition,  a spare .45 magazine and a marked P500 bill.

Police also impounded a motorcycle used by the suspects to transport the drugs, said PRO10 director, Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan.
