2 dealers shot dead

AGENTS of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office shot dead two armed drug trafficking suspects in an encounter in Malolos City early morning yesterday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Chief Superintendent Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said.

Eight other suspected drug personalities in the province were also arrested in a string of buy-bust operations over the past two days, said Bulacan police director, Senior Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna.

The official identified the slain suspects as Virgilio Gabriel Jr., a resident of Barangay Taal, Malolos City and Erwin Panganiban, of Bgy. Panasahan, Malolos City.

He said that  the two have just conspired to sell shabu to an undercover officer in NIA Road, Bgy. Santor in Malolos City around 12:20 in the morning yesterday when they sensed the presence of other policemen in the area and opted to shoot it out with the lawmen.

Officers retaliated killing the two on the spot. Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, nine plastic packets containing dried marijuana leaves, the buy-bust money, one caliber .38 revolver with two spent cartridges and two live ammunition and a Colt 1911 cal. .45 pistol with serial no. 936185 with a magazine containing two bullets.
