2 defy checkpoint, slain in shootout

TWO unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects were killed by Cavite policemen in a gunfight after they refused to stop at a Comelec-PNP Checkpoint on Snake Road in Bgy Salawag, Dasmarinas, Cavite at 1 a.m. Sunday.

Policemen chased the two suspects and shot them dead after a brief encounter.

Police recovered two cal. .38 revolvers and the slain suspects’ motorcycle.

Earlier in Gen. Trias City, Cavite, policemen conducted a buy-bust operation where three suspects identified as Bryan Talamayan, Reyland Jay Villanueva and Albert Legaspi took the cops’ bait.

However, Talamayan sensed they were dealing with law enforcers and fired at them.  He was shot and wounded, while his cohorts were arrested.

A cal. .38 gun, seven plastic sachets containing shabu and a P500 bill were recovered from the suspects.

Meanwhile, 12 wanted persons were arrested by authorities in separate anti-crime operations in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon provinces.

‘Those arrested were Arjon Obispo, Kim-Alex Ybanez, Randy Mongaya, Edwin Barrios, Joey  Remoto, Rufino Barolo, Manuel Orano, Berting Orano and Richmond Abad, all of Cavite; Elvis Andres  of Rodriguez, Rizal, Alvin Dili Dili of Teresa and Ronalin Austin of Lucban.
