BATANGAS City, Batangas -- A jobless man and a seven-year-old girl died after being shot by unidentified suspects while on board a motorcycle in Sitio Arrieta, Bgy. 20, here, on Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as John Kenneth Lumanglas, alias Pekto, of legal age, unemployed; Raizel Gabrielle Dalisay Vergara, student; and Racquele Lumanglas Davalos, 40, married, port manager, all residents of Bgy. Sta. Clara, Batangas City.
Initial investigation showed that the three victims were on board a Yamaha Mio motorcycle owned by Davalos and traversing along Sitio Arrieta at around 7:15 p.m. when the unidentified suspects suddenly appeared from behind and fired at them several times.
The victims were rushed by concerned residents on the area to Golden Gate Hospital where John Kenneth and Raizel Gabrielle were declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Jorvina Liliorchid.
The suspects fled on foot after the incident.
A Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team processed the crime scene.
Meanwhile in Calatagan town, police reported that Roberto delos Reyes Panganiban, 44, farmer, married, of Bgy. Hukay, was shot dead by one Alex Tolentino, who immediately fled after the incident.
Investigation showed that at around 8:30 p.m., the victim and the suspect were seen drinking liquor at the place when a heated argument erupted between them.
Police said the suspect drew a firearm and shot the victim in the head that caused his instantaneous death.
The suspect fled on foot towards the forested area. He is now the object of police manhunt operation.
