TWO armed drug trafficking suspects were killed in separate shootouts with Bulacan policemen while 15 others were arrested in a series of anti-criminality operations in the province on Wednesday and yesterday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia said.
The two slain suspects were identified as Noli de Leon, a 35-year-old chicken vendor from Barangay Duhat in Bocaue town and Jon-jon Villegas, a resident of Bgy. Graceville in San Jose del Monte City.
According to Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe, suspect de Leon had just sold drugs to an undercover officer of the Plaridel Muncipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Captain Danny Cabotage around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday when he sensed the ongoing sting and tried to shoot the poseur but missed.
Back-up officers returned fire killing the suspect on the spot. A still unidentified companion of the suspect escaped arrest on board a motorcycle without plate number and is still being hunted, said the Bulacan police director.
Recovered from the possession of the slain suspect were 24 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, the buy-bust money and a caliber .38 revolver with two live ammunition and several spent cartridges.
On the other hand, Villegas was gunned down during a shootout in Bakabakahan Road in Bgy. San Roque in Pandi municipality at 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
Cajipe said members of the Pandi police station led by Cpt. Jun Alejandrino recovered six plastic sachets containing shabu the marked money and a cal. .38 revolver with a spent casing and several live ammunition from the slain suspect’s possession.
The official also reported the arrest of Alberto Quibol Jr.,35, a truck driver from Bgy. Banga 1st in Plaridel after he sold shabu to a poseur in Bgy. Tabang about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect yielded four plastic sachets containing shabu and the marked money paid to him by an undercover agent.
Three other drug suspects identified as John Jeric dela Paz, Ricardo dela Cruz and Leopoldo Magsino were also arrested yesterday by anti-narcotics officers in Bocaue, Norzagaray and San Miguel municipalities respectively, said Cajipe.
Dela Paz and dela Cruz are both included in the unified watchlist of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Recovered from the suspects were 13 plastic sachets with shabu and the buy-bust money.
The official said the other suspects were arrested in separate anti-criminality operations in Marilao, Plaridel, Guiguinto, Angta, Balagtas and Calumpit municipalities and the cities of San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan.
The suspects were facing charges ranging from rape, frustrated murder, child abuse, estafa, attempted homicide and reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injuries and damage to property, said Cajipe.
