2 drug peddlers slain in Batangas

CAMP Malvar, Batangas- Two suspected drug peddlers were killed by authorities in separate buy-bust operations in Padre Garcia and Nasugbu towns on Friday, according to a police report here.

Batangas police director  Col. Edwin A. Quilates  identified  the suspects as alias Lock/Steve and a certain Joel  Galicha  alias Anah.

Quilatis said this alias Lock was shot dead in a gunfight with the police during the operation.

Around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 27, personnel of the Padre Garcia Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Banaba, against the suspect that resulted in an armed confrontation after selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu to the poseur buyer.

The suspect sensed that he transacted with a police officer, immediately drew a cal. .38 revolver and fired at the operative but missed.

The cop returned fire and hit the suspect.

The suspect sustained gunshot  wounds in the body and was rushed to Rosales Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Quilates also said Galicha was confronted by the Nasugbu police in a buy-bust operation around 8:10 p.m. at Sitio Roxas Village, which resulted  in his death.

Police recovered one plastic sachet of suspected shabu and one caliber. .38 revolver at the scene.
