SAN Antonio, Nueva Ecija -- Two delivery personnel were arrested while their cohort-driver escaped after robbing the company truck loaded with assorted groceries here on Wednesday night.

Municipal police station head Chief Insp. Marlon Cudal identified the two nabbed suspects as driver Gregorio Mangalinao, 48, of Bgy. San Pablo, Jaen, and Orly Alarilla, 21, helper, of Bgy. Sta. Barbara, this town, and Christopher Bosque, 35, also a driver, of Bgy. Santa Barbara, San Antonio, as the escaped suspect.

Cudal said the suspects robbed a delivery truck loaded with assorted grocery items owned by municipal budget officer Armando M. Cruz, of Bgy. Poblacion.

He said the heist was perpetrated in Bgy. Sta. Barbara at 9:20 p.m.

Cruz complained that upon inspection, he discovered that some 20 boxes of groceries amounting to P20,000 were missing and believed carted away by the three suspects.

During follow-up operations, Cudal said his men arrested Mangalinao and Alarilla while Bosque managed to escape.

“Nakatakbo ’yung isang driver, iniwan ’yung truck sa Capas, Tarlac,” Cruz said in his text message to this reporter yesterday.

Cudal said charges for qualified theft were already filed against the three suspects before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Cabanatuan City.
