2 ‘HVTs’ bagged in Cagayan

TWO suspected ‘high-value’ drug targets in Cagayan Valley were arrested by the local police in separate buy-bust operations in the region on Tuesday, Police Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Jose Mario M. Espino announced yesterday.

The two suspects were identified as Carlito Venus alias ‘Carlo Martinez/Boy Tattoo,’ a 27-year-old resident of Barangay Mocay in Baggao, Cagayan and Macario Igonia, 43, a construction worker from Patul Road, Purok 2 in Bgy. Rosario, Santiago City in Isabela province.

In a report to Camp Crame, Espino said Venus was arrested in a sting in Bgy. San Jose in Baggao municipality around 4:55 p.m. Tuesday which led in the seizure of four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and P4,000 in marked bills he received from an undercover officer.

Another entrapment operation in Santiago City at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday resulted in the arrest of Igonia who yielded a sachet of shabu and a marked P500 bill paid to him by a poseur.
