SAN JOSE CITY – Over P3-million worth of marijuana was seized during a buy-bust operation that also resulted in the neutralization of two alleged notorious drug pushers, who fought off anti-narcotics operatives in a brief gunfight on Sunday night here.
City police head Lt. Col. Heryl "Daguit" Bruno said the buy-bust-turned-encounter occurred in Zone 3, Bgy. Sto. Nino 3rd at 9:30 p.m.
Killed were two drug suspects identified as alias Dicson and Romy, both of Kibungan, Benguet province.
Bruno said his men in collaboration with agents of the Regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon led by Christopher Macairap conducted the drug sting that resulted in the killing of the suspects, who were tagged as notorious drug traffickers operating in the different provinces of Luzon.
Seized during the operation were 28 kilos of dried marijuana wrapped in 10 plastic sheets, approximately worth at least P3.36-million at P120 per gram and loaded inside the suspects' blue-green Mitsubishi Delica wagon with plate number RBC-993.
Also found at the encounter site were two cal. 38 revolvers, two P1,000 bills and some boodle money used as buy-bust money in the operation, and six empty slugs for cal. 9mm pistol.
