2 Koreans held, 10 trafficked Pinays rescued in Angeles

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Two Korean nationals were arrested while 10 Filipino females believed to be victims of human trafficking were rescued in Angeles City the other day.

Brigadier Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, Police Regional Office 3 director, said the rescued women were believed to be employed by Jeung Wook Pyo alias “Kei”and Park Kicheri alias “Gerald” and engaged in prostitution activities.

Investigation showed that the rescued women were working as attendants in the two Korean men’s illegal massage business.

Joint personnel from Regional Anti-Trafficking in Persons Task Group, Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office 3 and Regional Mobile Force Battalion armed with Search Warrants no. 19-475 and 19-476 issued by Judge Irene Zenaida Buan of Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 56 for Violation of RA 9208 as amended by RA 10364 proceeded to Villasol Subd. in Barangay Anunas and Josefaville Subd. in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the two Korean nationals and the rescue of the 10 females.

“As we are very much focused on our all-out war against illegal drugs, we continue to sternly implement our focused police operations to curb all forms of criminality within the four corners of the region,” Coronel said.
