TWO suspected members of the infamous Kuratong Baleleng Gang wanted for the murder of a barangay councilman in Ozamiz City were captured by members of the Regional Special Operations Group of the Police Regional Office 7 in a raid in Liloan, Cebu late afternoon Friday, PRO7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas said.
Suspects Jacinto Obagan alias ‘Pablo, 29, and his relative Richard Obagan alias ‘Richie,’48, were tracked down in their hiding place in Villa Lucila in Barangay Poblacion in Liloan municipality at 4:45 p.m. Friday by PRO7 RSOG operatives, said the official.
Sinas said the two were arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Roy Murallon of the Ozamiz City Regional Trial Court Branch 35.
Believed to be guns-for-hire in Ozamiz City who fled to Cebu after they were targeted by the local police, the duo did not resist arrest when surrounded by the RSOU 7 officers. No firearm was recovered from the suspects.
Sinas said the suspects are wanted for the murder of one ‘Kagawad Salvador’ of Bgy. Malaubang in Ozamiz City where they have been associated with the infamous Ardot Parojinog Group.
The Central Visayas police director said they are checking with the Ozamiz City police the full background of the duo including the possibility they could be involved in illegal drug activities as well as other criminal activities.
