TWO suspected drug pushers were killed in what police described as an armed encounter during two separate buy-bust operations in La Paz town and Tarlac City over the weekend.
Acting Tarlac police director Senior Supt. Ritchie M. Posadas identified the suspects as Howard Arenas Carlisle, of Barangay San Nicolas, Tarlac City and Eugene Flores, of Barangay Maliwalu also in Tarlac City.
Posadas said Carlesli was killed at about 10:30 p.m. in Barangay Balanoy, La Paz while Flores met his end in Barangay Binaugawan, Tarlac City at about 10:35 p.m.
According to Posadas both suspects died on the spot due to bullet wounds in the body. He said the suspects tried to shoot it out with members of Drug Enforcement Unit of La Paz and Tarlac City police stations to elude arrest after detecting they were dealing with undercover cops.
Both suspects reportedly possessed a 38 cal. revolver which they reportedly used during the armed encounter.
Three heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu were recovered by the SOCO team from the dead body of Carlesli while two plastic sachets of illegal drugs were found by policemen from Flores.
Police also recovered two spent shells and two misfired bullets for cal. 38 in the crime scene in Barangay Balanoy while four spent shells and two live bullets for cal. 38 were found by policemen in the crime scene in Barangay Binaugawan.
