TWO men wanted for murdering a farmer over a land dispute were arrested by the police in San Miguel, Bulacan on Thursday, local police director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said yesterday.
Suspects Alvin Gacias and Alberto Viudes, both residents of Barangay Sibul in San Miguel municipality were caught in Sitio Malapad na Parang at 7 p.m. Thursday and are now locked up at the San Miguel Municipal Police Station jail, said the official.
According to Cajipe, the suspects were identified as the men who shot and killed 39-year old Edwin Viudes as the victim was resting near a local river. Gacias is a cousin of the victim.
An investigation conducted by the San Miguel police headed by Lieutenant Col. Voltaire Rivera showed that prior to the murder case, a son of the victim was told by Gacias he would kill his father.
The witness said that his uncle even asked for his father’s location not knowing he would make true his murder threat.
