TWO teenagers were killed in a gun attack by motorcycle-riding men in Cebu.
Slain were Manap Mapintao, a 17-year-old tricycle driver, and his passenger Paul Anwar Villareal, a 16-year-old Grade 10 student of the Sudtunggan Night High School.
Mapintao and Villareal were both residents of Dubai Sudtunggan Tumoy in Bgy. Basak.
They were shot in Tiange, Bgy. Babag II in Lapu-Lapu City at 9:10 p.m. on Monday.
The suspects, who were on separate motorcycles, tailed the victims who were then riding a tricycle.
When they reached the corner of Calawisan-Babag Road, the gunmen suddenly shot Mapintao without any provocation.
Anwar was shot while trying to flee the scene.
Both victims died on the spot from several gunshot wounds.
Police Regional Office 7 director Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said that while officers from the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 7 was processing the crime scene, a group of Muslim people arrived and forcibly took the body of Mapintao.
The body of Villareal was claimed by her mother, Elma. She told investigators that her son asked permission to go outside their house not knowing that the boy would be riding along with Mapintao.
Police are pursuing the gunmen and investigating the motive behind the killing.
In Mandaue City, unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen yesterday shot and wounded Jerome Suson, 39, a resident of Sector 4, Baas in Bgy. Pagsabungan.
Suson was driving a motorcycle, with his daughter as passenger, when shot.
The victim was rushed to the North General Hospital for treatment.
