SARIAYA, Quezon – Police are digging deeper into the death of two young men who on Wednesday were found dead and lying on the shoulder of the Eco Tourism road in Bgy. Talaan Aplaya, this town.

Quezon police director Sr. Supt. Osmundo de Guzman said the victims were identified by their relatives as Arnel Velasquez, 22, of Little Baguio, Bgy. Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City, and Janiel Villanueva, 26, of Bgy. Kalilayan,   Unisan, Quezon.
The victims had bullet wounds in the heads and bodies.

Personnel of the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office processed the crime scene and found empty shells for cal. 9mm pistols near the victims’ bodies, an indication that the two were killed in the place.

Earlier, rumors said  the victims were dumped in the area but were actually killed somewhere else.

Relatives of Velasquez told police that the victim was last seen alive while driving a motorcycle and roaming at Purok Little Baguio, Bgy. Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Supt. Julio Reyes Go, the newly-installed town police commander, said they are verifying if the killing was drug-related.

An initial information gathered shows that illegal drugs had something to do with the twin slaying.

“We’re completing the results of our findings,” Go said.
