CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Twenty men and women were arrested in anti-illegal gambling operations conducted by operatives under the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 (CIDG-3) over the weekend.
Reports submitted to Col. Amante B. Daro, newly installed regional officer of CIDG-3, showed that the operations were conducted in four provinces of Central Luzon.
Acting on the complaints of concerned citizens, operatives arrested one Lanie Esteban, 33, and Joseph Bacus, 40, for maintaining “Drop Ball” in Barangay Cabcaben, Mariveles, Bataan.
In Barangay Dulongbayan, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, operatives arrested Zsa Zsa Arsigue, 22; Maryjane Barte, 29; Tessie Marila, 27; Sanie Thess Marila, 24; Susan Cha, 50; and Richelle Coquilla, 23, for engaging in illegal card games using two tables.
Also in San Jose Del Monte, one Rodolfo Angelo, 59, and one Jorlito Adio, 46, were arrested for playing mahjong. Other players were able to evade arrest after they scampered away after sensing the presence of the police.
In Barangay Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan, CIDG operatives arrested Richard Diño, 26; Kenneth Cabaya, 23; Delfin Macatula Jr., 41; and Rodolfo Gonzales Jr., 52. The suspects were caught in the act of playing cara y cruz.
In Barangay Sto. Niño, Concepcion, Tarlac, one Obet Mamangon, 52; Jomel Garo, 25; and Jayson Galang, 40, were arrested for playing “drop ball.”
In Barangay Mangan Vaca, Subic, Zambales, concerned citizens complained about the rampant playing of “pusoy” at the jeepney terminal compound. Operatives were able to arrest Joselito Natividad, 42; Jessie Labares, 41; and Jerremy Sidlao, 26.
The arrested suspects were charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 before the prosecutor’s offices of their respective localities.
Meanwhile, one Andrino Osias, 58, was arrested after operatives armed with a court-issued search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 found a homemade shotgun in his residence at Barangay Patling, Capas, Tarlac.
In Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, CIDG-Pampanga operatives arrested one Jonas Macapagal, 18; and Jay-ar Macapagal, 39, after they sold guns to a poseur-buyer.
One cal. .38 revolver with six live ammunition was seized from Jonas, while a cal. 9mm pistol with seven live ammunition was confiscated from Jay-ar.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of RA 10591.
