A series of anti-narcotics operations in Bulacan on Saturday resulted in the killing of three suspected drug dealers and the arrest of six others, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said yesterday.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna identified the slain suspects as Harold Sunpongco, of M. Perez Street in Barangay Poblacion, Norzagaray town; Alfie Garcia, of Bgy. Caingin in San Rafael; and Julius Ace Lavarro, a resident of Sitio Gulod, Bgy. Camalig in Meycauayan City.
The official said Sunpongco was killed in a firefight with undercover officers of the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station headed by Major Avelino Protacio shortly after he sold shabu to a poseur 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Recovered from the slain suspect’s possession were a .38 revolver with three spent cartridges and three live bullets, four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a marked P500 bill paid to him by the operative.
On the other hand, Garcia engaged officers of the San Rafael Municipal Police Station headed by Lieutenant Col. Laurente Acquiot in a shootout in Bgy. Sampaloc 11 p.m. Saturday shortly after he sensed the buy-bust.
An unidentified cohort of the suspect managed to escape on a motorcycle. The slain suspect was found in possession of a cal. .38 revolver with three bullets and two spent casings, the buy-bust money and six plastic sachets containing shabu.
The third suspect identified as Lavarro was gunned down by membes of the Bulakan Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Grace Naparato in Bgy. Bambang 11:55 p.m. Saturday.
Seized from the suspect were 10 plastic sachets containing shabu, 18 plastic packets with dried marijuana leaves, the marked money paid to him by the undercover agent and a loaded cal. .38 revolver.
Bersaluna said six other suspected drug dealers in Meycauayan City and Bocaue were arrested in separate stings on Saturday which resulted in the recovery of 18 plastic sachets with shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money paid to them by police poseurs.
The arrested suspects were Aridel del Rosario,43; Marvie Labong,19; Joan Ralo,27; Jennifer Francisco,26; Jack Contante,28; and Rafael Guerrero,36.
