FOUR men wanted for drug trafficking and rape were arrested by members of the Talisay City Police Station in Cebu following two separate operations on Wednesday, a report to Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Debold M. Sinas said.
Three of the suspects identified as Creslda Zafra, Jerry Ligaspino and Sabareno Cabanes, were arrested during a buy-bust operation along the national highway in Barangay Bulacao in Talisay City at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, said Cebu Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Rhoderick Mariano.
The official said members of the Talisay City police headed by Major Orlando Carag Jr. seized 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some 16 grams of shabu worth over P110,000, a P500 marked bill and P400 believed to be part of the trio’s drug proceeds during the sting.
The other suspect identified as Rodulf Echavez, a 25-year-old resident of Sitio Maharlika, Bgy. Pooc was arrested by the local police on the strength of a warrant of arrest for rape at 2:30 p.m. Wedneday.
Mariano said that Echavez, the 10th most wanted person in Talisay City was nabbed on the basis of warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Glenda Go of the Talisay City Regional Trial Court Branch 65 on August 30, 2018.
No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused, the official said.
