CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas -- Three suspected drug peddlers were nabbed by authorities in separate buy-bust operations in Lian and Sto. Tomas towns, provincial police chief PIO Senior Insp. Kerwin Umali Amor Cabrales said the other day.
Senior Supt. Edwin A. Quilates, Batangas police director, identified the three suspects as Sonny Boy San Gabriel Garcia, Carlo Ruben Perolino V. Calixigan and Renzo Briones.
He said that around 8 a.m., personnel of the Lian Municipal Police Station and Batangas Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) conducted a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Kapito, Lian, which resulted in the arrest of Garcia and Perolino.
The suspects, Quilates said, were caught while selling 30 grams of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover agent who posed as a buyer in exchange for P100,000 in boodle money and also recovered suspected shabu (about 20 grams) with estimated street value of P340,000, four pieces of P100 bills and a Toyota Corolla (PRV 740).
He said the Sto. Tomas MPS, the PIB team and the Batangas Police Provincial Office personnel conudcted the operation based on a tip from an informant in Bgy. San Roque against Briones at 10 p.m.
The suspect was found in possession of three plastic sachets filled with suspected shabu weighing 35 grams, a cal. .45 pistol, a magazine and live bullets when arrested.
