3 druggies slain in Ecjia stings

CABANATUAN CITY – The war against illegal drugs continues to be bloody in Nueva Ecija as three suspected drug traffickers turned up dead in separate clashes with authorities after they resisted arrest during the conduct of successive buy-bust operations against them last Thursday and yesterday.

In Aliaga, police chief, Major Jaime P. Ferrer said John Michael Torrocha, of Bgy. Camp Tinio, this city, turned hostile and fired at an undercover operative after selling to him a plastic sachet of shabu worth P500 in Bgy. San Carlos at 10:22 p.m.  

In the ensuing gunfight, Ferrer said the suspect, described as a confirmed drug personality and his unidentified cohort were hit, resulting to their instantaneous death.

In Llanera, killed was Cipriano Carlos Jr., of Bgy. Mabini.

During the buy-bust conducted at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, he allegedly drew a cal. 45 pistol and shot a police officer but missed, said Police Capt. Ferdinand V. Somera, town police head.

Somera said the suspect died due to gunshot wounds in the body after engaging his men in a brief gunbattle.

In Cabanatuan City, the police anti-drug operation went bloody when it was conducted in Purok Amihan, Bgy. Barrera at 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

Killed was Randy Calanday, of Villaluz Subd., Bgy. Mabini Homesite.
