THREE fake enforcers of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) including a female were arrested by PNP-Tarlac and LTO-Region 3, a ranking official of the agency reported yesterday.
In the official report submitted by PNP-Tarlac to the Office of Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief Edgar Galvante, the three were identified as Laudemer Semarang Mondero, of Apsayan, Gerona, Tarlac, Noel Pascual of Partida, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, and Mary Grace De Guzman Garcia.
Atty. Clarence Guinto, Director of LTO-National Capital Region and Concurrent Director of LTO-Law Enforcement Section said based on the investigation report by Senior Inspector Arnel Cera of PNP-Tarlac the suspects were arrested by Tarlac PNP while conducting checkpoint at the vicinity of Barangay Singat, Pura, Tarlac, and Exit of Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union, Expressway (TPLEX).
Cera said operatives of Tarlac PNP found the suspects in the said area with complete LTO Uniform, IDs, and civilian vehicle with PNP Highway Patrol Group sticker and Plate Number USV-404.
Further investigation showed all the suspects’ documents were fake.
The suspects are now detained at the Tarlac-PNP charged with usurpation of authority and illegal use of uniforms and insignia.
In a separate report LTO-Regional 3 Director Eduardo de Guzman certified that the suspects were not deputized agents of LTO-Region 3 or even the Central Office in Manila.
Guinto also confirmed that the suspects were fake LTO traffic enforcers.
Guinto warned the public to immediately report to authorities any fake LTO enforcers.
“Sinisira ng mga kumag na ito ang magandang imahe ng mga LTO enforcers, at tinitiayak ng agency may kalalagyan kayo sa kamay ng batas,” said Guinto.
