Three persons — two in possession of gun and shabu and one who indiscriminately fired a handgun — were arrested by authorities separately in Balayan town and Batangas City over the weekend.
Batangas police director Col Edwin A. Quilates identified the suspects as Larry Umandap, Rufino Cahayon, and 44-year-old Bienvenido Alo.
Quilates said Umandap and Cahayon were arrested by Balayan Municipal Police Station personnel when they conducted a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Dao Saturday at 5:40 p.m.
Police recovered from the duo six pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a P500 bill marked money, two cellphones, cash money with different denominations, a cal. .45 Remington pistol with serial no. 75109 loaded with live ammunition, inserted with one magazine with two live bullets and a brown holster.
The Batangas City police handcuffed Alo for indiscriminate firing while roaming at Bgy. Dalig around 12:15 a.m. yesterday. They seized one cal. .45 Norinco pistol with serial no. BA18166-08-246 with an inserted magazine loaded with three live ammunition and one fired cartridge casing at the scene.
