THREE suspected drug traffickers were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by the local police last Wednesday in Koronadal City which led in the confiscation of some P175,000 worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 12 director, Brigadier General Alfred S. Corpus said yesterday.
Nabbed were Isabelita Apura alias ‘Baby,’ 63, Mike Lester Calixto, 38, and Jar-ar Carin, 29.
Corpus said Apura, a resident of Bgy. Namnama, was arrested after she sold a packet of shabu to an undercover officer in Purok Spring 1, Bgy. Morales.
The elderly woman yielded 10 small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some P9,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and a marked P1,000 bill paid to him by an undercover officer.
A record check showed the suspect was out on temporary bail for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 when she was arrested.
Calixto, a resident of Bgy. Silway 8 in Polomolok, South Cotabato, was arrested during a sting in Purok Kahirup, Bgy. Sto. Niño after he sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur.
When frisked, the suspect was also found in possession of nine more plastic sachets containing some nine grams of shabu valued at P77,000.
Corpus said the Koronal City police discovered that Calixto is out on bail for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
