3 men held for drugs, gun; woman caught for estafa

Three men were arrested for possession of a gun and illegal drugs while a woman wanted by five courts was arrested for fraud and estafa in Mabalacat City and Mexico town the other day.

In a report to Col. Christopher Abrahano, regional officer of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3, CIDG-Pampanga head Maj. Manny Israel identified the arrested men as Carlo Miranda, 27; Lorence Soliman, 23; and Clarence Miranda, 24, all residents of Barangay Dau in Mabalacat City.

The three were arrested by CIDG operatives in a buy-bust operation after they sold P2,000 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer.

When subjected to body search, Carlo Miranda yielded a cal. .38 revolver without serial number while Soliman and Clarence Miranda each yielded a sachet of shabu. The two marked bills were also recovered from the suspects who are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive dangerous Drugs act of 2002.

Carlo is facing additional charges for violation of RA 10591 for illegal possession of firearm.

Israel said that Carlo is the alleged leader of “Mamucud Criminal Group” under Information Report CIDGR3 Pam-2020-01-14-001.

Meanwhile, one Leslie Mananquil, 43, was arrested in Barangay San Jose Matulid, Mexico town by CIDG-Pampanga operatives and elements of the Mexico police and 301st Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by five different municipal trial and regional trial courts in various parts of Pampanga for violation of Batas Pambansa 22 or estafa.

Mananquil was initially brought to the Mexico police station for detention pending her presentation to the courts that issued arrest warrants against her.
