CABANATUAN CITY – Three persons were nabbed on Friday in stepped-up search operations conducted by the police against loose firearms in Nueva Ecija.
In Zaragosa, police led by Major Jaime Ferrer arrested Ferdinand Torres, 51, farmer after a search made on his premises at 6 a.m. in Bgy. Sto. Rosario Old yielded a Smith and Wesson cal. 38 revolver with five bullets and a magazine assembly for cal. 45 pistol with three live ammunition.
In Guimba, nabbed was Silvestre Duldulao, 59, carpenter, of Bgy. Sta. Cruz, who was collared by members of the local police, 2nd provincial mobile force company and the 303rd regional mobile force led by Lt. Col. Kevin Bulayungan shortly after implementing a search warrant against him for violation of Republic Act 10591.
Seized from the suspect’s premises were a cal. 38 revolver with five bullets, four bullets for cal.22, a live ammunition for cal.45 pistol and two blank bullets for unknown gun caliber.
Meanwhile, in MuHoz Science City, police led by Lt. Col. Gerald Licyayo responded to an indiscrimate gun-firing incident and arrested Joel Gaspar, 54, inside his residential compound in Bgy. Balante at 8 p.m.
Licyayo said he sent his men to the area after Bgy. Chairman Emiliano Fabro alerted them about several gunshots that were heard coming from the suspect’s compound.
