THREE of Northern Mindanao’s most wanted persons have been hauled to jail by the local police in separate manhunt operations this week, Police Regional Office 10 director, Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan announced yesterday.
Suspects Rolly Fajanilag and Leo Failanza are both wanted for murder with no bail recommended, said the official.
According to Anduyan, Fajanilag was tracked down in his workplace in Pagkakaisa Village in Barangay Lubugan, Toril District in Davao City on Thursday afternoon by a team from the Regional Intelligence Unit 10 led by Lieutenant Colonel Dominador Matalang and the PRO10 Regional Intelligence Division led by Lt. Col. Gerardo Ulanday with the assistance of officers from the Davao City Police Office.
The suspect, tagged as the no. 1 most wanted man in Northern Mindanao was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Edgardo Lloran of the Cagayan de Oro City Regional Trial Court Branch 18.
A follow-up operation in Bgy. Mandog in Buhangin District led in the arrest of Fajanilag’s cousin Pailanza inside his rented boarding house. Described as the 4th most wanted in Region 10, the suspect was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mirabeaus Undaloc of the Gingoog City RTC Branch 43 on June 27, 2012.
