THREE wanted felons including a suspected big-time drug trafficker in Western Mindanao were arrested by the local police in separate anti-criminality operations on Monday, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Froilan F. Quidilla said yesterday.
The official said that suspected ‘high-value drug target’ Abushaif Abdukadil Abubakar alias ‘Ivan,’ a 25-year-old resident of Sapang Palay, Baliwasan Grande, Zamboanga City was arrested in his neighborhood by local policemen after he sold drugs to a poseur at 7:40 a.m. Monday.
Quidilla said the suspect yielded 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some P15,000 worth of shabu and a marked P200 bill paid to him by the undercover agent.
The suspect is now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the official said.
The two other arrested suspects were identified as Ricky Maghanoy, 36, and Ahad Marani, 25.
Quidilla said Maghanoy, a ‘kagawad’ of Barangay Goin in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for grave threat issued by Judge Kathia Adasa-Santiago of the Liloy-Tampilisan Municipal Circuit Trial Court with a P6,000 recommended bail.
