FOUR suspected carnappers were killed in a shootout with law enforcers shortly after they victimized a beautician yesterday morning in Plaridel, Bulacan.
Identities of the fatalities were not yet available as of press time.
Reports reaching Camp Crame said that the incident occurred at around 3:50 a.m. along Bgy. Banga 1st and Bgy. Bagong Silang, Plaridel, Bulacan
Prior to the shootout the suspects took the gray Toyota Vios with plate number AHA 2068 owned by the victim Michael Reyes Y Cruz, 27, beautician and resident of Bgy. Longos, Pulilan, Bulacan that was parked near Alfa Mart convenience store in the said place.
According to the victim, he parked his car and bought something from the convenience store but when he returned two of the suspects poked a gun at him and forcibly took his car while the other suspects onboard a motorcycle followed them.
Reyes immediately reported the incident to local police. In response to the report, Bulacan police immediately flashed an alarm and conducted a dragnet and hot pursuit operations.
The suspects reportedly avoided a checkpoint in the area and proceeded to NIA road where they were cornered. They shot the pursuing lawmen, but the cops returned fire, killing the suspects.
Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber 45 pistol, one UZI sub machine gun, two caliber 38 and one Toyota Vios owned by the victim.
Authorities are now conducting a follow-up investigation.
