4 drug dealers held in Mindanao

FOUR known drug traffickers in Central Mindanao were arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office 12 in separate anti-narcotics operations in the region late last week, PRO12 director, Brigadier General Michael John F. Dubria said.

One of the suspects identified as Shem Rivera, a 28-year-old resident of Zone 7, Barangay Bula, General Santos City yielded a packet of shabu and a marked P500 bill during a sting conducted by the local police in front of the Matutum Holy Garden’s Cemetery last Friday.

Two others, Wyner Smith Goad,22, a resident of Bgy. Lumakil in Polomolok, South Cotabato and his pal, an 18-year-old female teenager identified only as alias ‘Jet’ were arrested in a sting along Cannery Road in Purok San Miguel past 9 p.m. Friday.

Recovered from the suspects were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated P7,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and a marked P1,000 bill they received from an undercover officer.

The 4th identified as April Boy Asenjo was arrested last Saturday morning in a sting in Alim Street, Bgy. Poblacion in Kidapawan City. The suspect yielded three plastic sachets containing about P2,000 worth of shabu and a marked P500 bill.

Dubria said the suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
