FOUR suspected drug pushers were killed in separate clashes in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga the other day.
Two of the suspects were killed after a supposed drug deal resulted in an armed encounter with anti-narcotics operatives in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, on Saturday afternoon.
Town police commander Supt. Joe Neil Rojo yesterday identified the slain suspects as Narciso Fajardo Jr., driver, of Bgy. Palagay, Cabanatuan City, and Alexander Babas Sr., of Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.
Also arrested during the same incident were their two cohorts, identified as June Aquino, of Purok 4, Bgy. Sibul, and Angelito Atencio, also of Bgy. Sibul. A fifth suspect, Rodolfo Isla, alias Ude, however, eluded arrest. They were allegedly sniffing shabu inside the house during the anti-drug operation.
Rojo said Aquino and Atencio are included on the police’s drug watchlist.
He said the encounter erupted during a buy-bust operation after Fajardo, who sensed that he transacted with real cops disguised as druggies, suddenly pulled out a gun and alerted his cohorts who were having a pot session inside the house.
The police official said Fajardo, armed with a cal. .45 pistol, fired at an operative, who retaliated along with his back-up unit, hitting him and Babas, who both died on the spot.
Rojo said the clash took place in Purok 4, Bgy. Sibul at 3:30 p.m.
In Pampanga, two suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with policemen in Bgy. Mawaque Maragul, Mabalacat City.
Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador, acting Pampanga police director, identified the slain suspects as Jhosyl Clemente, 24, an Oplan Tokhang surenderer, and Bryan John Yumul, 23.
Investigation showed that during a buy-bust operation, the suspects sensed that they were dealing with policemen and tried to flee.
Policemen chased the suspects, who allegedly drew their firearms and fired.
The lawmen fired back and killed the suspects.
Recovered from the suspects were two cal. .38 revolvers, one with four live ammunition and two fired cartridges and the other with two live ammunition and three fired cartridges; 16 sachets of shabu and two motorcycles without plate numbers.
The bodies of the suspects were brought to a funeral parlor but their relatives waived the autopsy for them.
Meanwhile, nine suspected drug peddlers were arrested in the anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the towns of San Simon, Macabebe, Guagua, Arayat, Lubao and San Luis.
