COMBINED operatives of the Police Regional Office 9 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Wednesday smashed a notorious drug den in Zamboanga City following a raid which led in the arrest of the dive maintainer and four of his clients, PRO9 director, Brigadier General Jesus D. Cambay Jr. reported yesterday
Cambay said the raid in Barangay Sta. Catalina in Zamboanga City conducted by members of the PDEA, the Task Force Zamboanga and the local police led in the arrest of the main target identified as Sadjid Tan.
The official said that Tan, a known ‘high-value target’ was the subject of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by Judge Gregorio dela Peña of the Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court Branch 12.
He said that apart from Tan, also arrested during the raid were the drug den visitors identified as Hashim Aminulla, Andy Dumael, Rohel Jajuri and Mark Rubio.
Cambay said that recovered during the anti-narcotics raid were 26 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000, a used aluminum foil with shabu residue, two partially-opened plastic sachets with drug residue and assorted drug sniffing paraphernalia including folded aluminum foils, improvised tooters and folded tissue papers.
He said the PDEA Regional Office 9 under Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva has taken custody of the suspects who are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
Cambay also announced the arrest of Joselito Feliciano, a 55-year old driver from Pasay, Bgy. San Roque, Zamboanga City after he sold drugs to an undercover agent of the Zamboanga City Police Station 7 around 2:40 a.m. Thursday.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were six plastic sachets containing some P6,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and two marked P100 bills paid to him by a poseur.
