5 dead, 32 nabbed in Laguna anti-drug, anti-crime operations

CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicen-te Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna -- Five persons were killed in a series of anti-illegal drugs and anti- criminality campagin while 32 others were busted for drugs in Laguna on Monday. 

In Sta. Rosa City, police conducted a buy-bust operation against Roberto Paredes at Daang Bakal, Purok 6, Espiritu Compound, Bgy. Pooc that resulted in an armed confrontation.

Laguna police director Senior Supt. Eleazar Matta said as the buy-bust was consummated, Paredes noticed that he was transacting with a policeman so he quickly drew his firearm and fired at the lawmen, who were forced to return fire, hitting the suspect.

The Sta. Rosa Rescue Team brought the wounded suspect to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

In San Pedro City, Rodante Aragao was killed in a buy-bust operation at Alconville, Bgy. Landayan.

Matta said the suspect also sensed that he was transacting with a police decoy and drew his cal. .45  pistol and fired at the lawmen who returned fire.

Matta said the suspect, who is a jeepney driver plying the Pasay Rotonda-Alabang route, is allegedly supplying illegal drugs from Pasay City to San Pedro City and was reportedly peddling illegal drugs to his co-drivers.

The  suspect is also reportedly maintaining a group of holduppers operating in the first district of Laguna.

At Snake Road, Bgy. Mamatid, Cabuyao City, Raul Alex was also killed during a buy-bust operation that led to an armed confrontation.

Meanwhile, two unidentified “Termite Gang” members were killed in a police operation at Block 262, Lot 11, Mabuhay City Subd., Bgy. Mamatid.

Matta said Cabuyao City police received an information regarding  suspicous persons who rented  a house.

Elements of Anti-Criminality Group responded on said information but the suspects fired at the approaching lawmen, resulting in an armed encounter.

Recovered at the crime scene were a cal. .45 pistol, a cal. .38 revolver, assorted construction materials and sketch map of Palawan Pawnshop location.

Meantime, 32 drug suspects were nabbed in buy-bust operations in the rpovince.

Police identified those arrested as Elmer Panaligan and Sheena Joanna Uypico, a former member of the Sex Bomb Dancers, who were caught selling 11 sachets of shabu in Bgy. Dila, Bay; Jeanette Caguite, of Bgy. Dila, Bay town (held for 2 sachets of shabu); Nilo de Mesa Samonteza, of Grove Hotel, Sitio Ilang-Ilang, Bgy. Bubukal, Sta. Cruz (5 sachets of shabu); Shiela Rellones, of Bgy. Dila, Bay (2 sachets of shabu); June Nepomucino Alvarez, of Bgy. Santisima Cruz, Sta. Cruz (1 sachet of shabu); Jerrold Concepcion of Bgy. San Antonio, San Pedro City (3 sachets); Jean Cristine Dela Cruz and Rogelio dela Cruz, both of Bgy. Taytay, Nagcarlan (6 sachets of shabu); Ronald Rodejo, alias ‘Net’, of Bgy. San Antonio, San Pedro City (6 sachets of shabu); Renz George Brady, of Bgy. Bulilan Sur, Pila (3 sachets of shabu); Kimberly Cardona and John Paulo Emlano, both of Bgy. Palina, Nagcarlan (1 sachet of shabu); Carlo Sarmiento, of Bgy. Buenavista, Magdalena (1 sachet of shabu); Reynato Anterola and Aljohn Gonzales, both of Bgy. Sta. Clara Norte, Pila (3 sachets); Leonardo  Basco Jr., of Bgy. San Isidro, Pagsanjan (3 sachets); Benjamin Soliman and Reynaldo Padayao, both of Block 33, Lot 12, Phase 3, Southville 5A, Bgy. Langkiwa, Biñan City, (9 sachets); Jeffrey Hernandez, of Bgy. Malaban, Biñan City (12 sachets); Janvier Matias, of Bgy. San Antonio, San Pedro City (5 sachets); Alvin Cortejo, of Bgy. Bayog, Los Baños (2 sachets); Reynante Amingual, of Bgy. San Miguel, Alaminos (2 sachets); Mores Flores, of Bgy. Sta. Catalina, Majayjay (2 sachets); Eduardo Perez, of Bgy. San Roque, Victoria (4 sachets); Lordan Amante and Bernard Delfino, both of Bgy. Malaya, Nagcarlan (7 sachets); Amador Cadang Baisas, of Bgy. 4-Quinale, Paete (1 sachet); Martin Flores and Vergie Paran, both of Bgy. II-F, San Pablo (7 sachets).
