CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Five crime suspects on Monday were killed while 54 others were arrested in simultaneous anti-criminality operations all over this province.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel, Sr. Supt. Jean Fajardo said three of the suspects who were killed in separate anti-illegal drug operations were identified as Leonardo Carreon Altis, Renato Dantes Manuntag and Jeffrey Sioco.

Altis was killed in an operation in this city, Manuntag in Candaba town while Sioco was shot in a gunfight with the police in San Simon.

Two still unidentified motorists who disregarded Comelec checkpoints in the towns of Sta. Rita and Magalang also died after they engaged policemen manning the checkpoints in a firefight.

Police reports said Magalang policemen were conducting a pursuit operation against suspects involved in an alleged carnapping in Bgy. San Isidro, Magalang.

The suspects passed by the checkpoint but instead of pulling over when flagged down, they stepped on the gas prompting policemen to put up a chase until the two were cornered at the Navaling Road.

The two men engaged lawmen in a gunfight that resulted in the death of one of the suspects.

A similar incident transpired in Sta. Rita town when a motorist disregarded a Comelec checkpoint and exchanged fire with lawmen.
