5 peddlers arrested in Cabanatuan drug stings

CABANATUAN CITY — Operatives of the local drug enforcement units of the city and provincial police nabbed five suspected drug peddlers during a buy-bust conducted on Wednesday.

Four of those arrested were identified as Reynaldo Malubay, 58, jobless; Ruel Malubay, 36, and Carlo Caparaz, 27, both laborers; and Ramon Caparaz, 52, carpenter, all of Purok 4, Bgy. Imelda, this city.

City police head Lt. Col. Arnel M. Dial said the drug sting was conducted at the suspects’ residence at around 4:15 p.m. where an undercover operative was able to buy P500 worth of shabu, resulting to the arrest of the suspects.

During the buy-bust, Reynaldo yielded the P500-buy-bust-marked money and another plastic sachet with shabu, while an additional two sachets with shabu each were also seized from Ruel and the two Caparazes.

In a subsequent anti-illegal drug operation, Dial said his men led by Major Jeffrey Alivia nabbed Susan Arce, 36, alias Jackson, of Purok 6, Bgy. San Isidro.

Arce also yielded four plastic sachets containing shabu aside from the P500-marked money used in the buy-bust operation.

Dial said all five suspects have been slapped with violation of Republic Act 9165 before the city prosecutor’s office here.
