5 suspects held, gun seized in Central Luzon

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Operatives under the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 arrested five suspects and seized a gun and ammunition in separate operations in various parts of Central Luzon over the weekend.

In Norzagaray, Bulacan, CIDG operatives arrested one Nestor Cruz after serving a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 that led to the discovery and seizure of a Colt cal. .45 pistol with three magazines and 17 pieces of live ammunition.

Lt. Col. Dederick Relativo, officer-in-charge of CIDG-R3, said the suspect presented papers for the gun but his license for it had already expired in 2013. He is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

In Angeles City, one Edwin Dizon was arrested in an entrapment operation for online selling of missing SD cards belonging to SFA Semicon.

Marked peso bills and one 512G Evo Micro SD card and one 64G Evo micro SD card were confiscated from the suspect, who is facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1612, the Anti-Fencing Law of 1979.
Also in Angeles City, one Oscar Ocampo and one Daniel Manalastas were arrested via court-issued warrants for violation of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The CIDG-Angeles alleged that the two are members of Costales Criminal Group involved in illegal drugs trafficking and gun-running operation.

In Camiling, Tarlac, one Flordeliza Francisco was arrested by virtue of a warrant for nine counts of estafa with recommended bail of P6,000 for each count.
