ANGELES CITY -- Seven persons, including a minor, were arrested in buy-bust and anti-illegal gambling operations here the other day that also resulted in the confiscation of several sachets of shabu.
Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang, acting city police director, said four of the suspects were arrested in Barangay Ninoy Aquino while three were nabbed in Barangay Cuayan.
Policemen conducted a buy-bust operation after confirming a report that one Henry Sumayad, 39, resident of Makati City, was actively selling illegal drugs at Marisol Subdivision in Barangay Ninoy Aquino and another subdivision here.
After Sumayad and his cohort identified as Rolando Ocampo sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer, they were placed under arrest.
Operatives also arrested one Benito Tiglao, 28, and his minor companion, who bought shabu from Sumayad and Ocampo.
In Barangay Cuayan here, policemen arrested one Anderson Cunanan, 35; John Martin Basoc, 21; and Edmond Reyes, 33, after receiving a call from concerned citizens that illegal gambling was being conducted by the three men at Purok 5.
Responding lawmen caught the suspects playing “winner take all” card game.
Confiscated from the suspects were a set of playing cards and P120 bet money. But further search led to the discovery and confiscation of two sachets of suspected shabu from the possession of Cunanan.
