73 SAF men in Marawi operations promoted

PHILIPPINE National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde yesterday led the mass oath-taking and donning of new ranks of 73 officers and men of the elite PNP Special Action Force who displayed heroic acts  in the liberation of Marawi City from Maute and Abu Sayyaf terrorists in May 2017.

The “Marawi City Liberators” from PNP-SAF includes 17 male Police Commissioned Officers and 57 Police Non-Commissioned Officers, two of them female commandos.

The special promotes include then Chief Inspectors Christopher Mendoza and Roberto Fabregas, now Police Lieutenant Colonels Mendoza and Fabregas and Senior Inspectors Joven Agramos, Jay Paul Andal, Edmar Christian Allen Tuburan and John Vincent Bravo, now all Police Majors. The young Major Tuburan is one of Gen. Albayalde’s security officers.
